Would you buy more handbags if they were more affordable?

When I first started buying handbags, I was mesmerized by how well many of them were designed: multiple inside pockets, some of them with zippers, hidden pockets in some where important ID cards or documents (or cash) can be stored. Adjustable straps. Ornate hardware on the outside. Basically a dream bag like this one which I own myself:

Although money is not the limiting factor with my purchasing handbags like the ones above (though the top one, by Rebecca Minkoff, was originally $300 USD) I decided that it’s better to own a couple of key handbags that are versatile, rather than buying dozens. If you follow fashion bloggers, some of them will say the same thing: It’s better to save up and purchase a single designer bag that will last a lifetime and be passed down from one generation to the next, rather than buying a slew of bags that end up spending more time in your closet than on your shoulder.

It costs a small fortune, yet it’s a coveted purchase because of its timelessness. Many women wear this bag every day for their entire lives.
